Ana Jiménez Palomar was born in Guadalajara México where she studied a BA in Industrial Design. In 2012 she moved to London and earned her master’s degree in furniture design from Central Saint Martins, presenting a collection of furniture that was internationally published in numerous design magazines and blogs, including ICON Magazine, ELLE Decor México and España, Wired, Designboom, Cool Hunter México, and DOMUS in Italy.

Her iconic furniture pieces have been featured in books such as Arigato - Thankful Design, published in Japan, and Quasi Segreti - Cassetti tra Arte e Design, published in Italy. Ana’s furniture has been exhibited at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City and is part of the permanent collection at the VSOP Projects gallery in New York, as well as private collections in Knightsbridge and Notting Hill.

In 2015, her piece El Bufón was selected by architect Zaha Hadid to be showcased at her gallery on Goswell Road in London. That same year, Ana received the international A’ Design Award for her distinctive piece El Doblecara and was a finalist in the Pure Talents competition at the Cologne Design Fair in Germany with her chest of drawers El Bufón.

In 2016, together with her colleague Gigi Barker, Ana founded Trouping Colour, a platform that enables emerging designers to showcase their work at high-profile events. Alongside Gigi, Ana curates and oversees the logistics of these events. As part of Trouping Colour, Ana has presented her work multiple times at events such as Clerkenwell Design Week, London Design Festival, 100% Design, and Tent London.

In 2023, Gigi and Ana decided to press pause on Trouping Colour to focus on their own exciting new ventures. That was when the idea for Tropel Kids began to take shape. This concept had been simmering in Ana’s head for a few years, and she was ready to make it happen: a brand of children’s clothing thoughtfully designed with kids in mind. Tropel Kids offers locally made, small-batch pieces crafted from high-quality materials, combining bold designs with ultimate comfort.
